After a few postseason appearances in 1991 and 1992, Hill made his NHL regular-season debut with the Montreal Canadiens in the 1992-93 season, playing in 31 games and scoring two goals with six assists. He appeared in three games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs as the Canadiens won their 24th championship. Hill would play in the NHL through the 2007-08 season.
