The Baraboo boys soccer team added to its impressive resume on Thursday with a 2-1 victory over Madison La Follette on the road.

The Thunderbirds started out strong, with senior Sawyer Bennett opening the scoring with a goal just four minutes into the non-conference contest, with Jacob Lawrence assisting. Senior Noah Kappel made it 2-0 in the 35th with Lawrence creating the opportunity once again. The Lancers were able to score about 10 minutes into the second half to make it a one-goal game, but the T-Birds were helped by the weather, as the game was called due to lightning in the 64th minute.

“The first half we were getting some opportunities and were able to put a couple in,” coach Nathanael Bresson said. “We had some opportunities that we missed out on, but things were clicking pretty well. Second half we kind of lost a little momentum but were still relatively consistent.”

Senior goalie Erik Eilertson saved four shots on the night. Baraboo (11-3-2 overall, 3-2-2 Badger North) will travel to Sauk Prairie on Tuesday.
