The Baraboo/Portage hockey team celebrated its season at the team’s banquet on Tuesday, presenting a variety of players with awards.
Three members of the team received All-Badger North Conference honors, including Jack Macdonald, Gabe D’Asto and Dane Hinz.
Macdonald was named second-team all-conference as a forward. The senior was second on the team with 28 total points this season, finishing with 12 goals and 16 assists. Macdonald was also named team MVP and received the Hobey Baker Memorial Award.
D’Asto was one of the team’s most reliable defensemen this season. The senior earned honorable mention all-conference recognition.
Hinz, a sophomore, was also an honorable mention All-Badger North pick as a goalie. Hinz recorded 429 saves on the year, finishing with a save percentage of .880. Hinz was awarded the Bill Butler Award by the team.
The other team award went to sophomore Cameron Logan, who was named Most Improved Player. Logan recorded 10 points on the season, tallying seven assists and three goals.
While the season is over for most, D’Asto and Macdonald will soon be back on the ice as they were both named to the Wisconsin Senior Class Tournament team for sectional 4. D’Asto was named as an alternate to the team, which will play this weekend in Waupun.
