Arlene A. Brandt, 84, of Reedsburg, died peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, at Our House Senior Living in Reedsburg.

Arlene was born on Nov. 23, 1932, in the town of Excelsior, the daughter of Henry and Leda (Reinfeldt) Haefer. Arlene was a 1950 graduate of Reedsburg High School and a graduate of the Sauk County Normal School. On Feb. 27, 1954, she was married to Reuben L. Brandt. Arlene worked at Hankscraft for over 30 years until her retirement. She enjoyed walking and spending time with her family. She was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her two sons, Duane (Diane Koenig) Brandt of Loganville and John (Cindy) Brandt of LaValle; two grandchildren, Amanda (Jeff) Hill and James (Shannon) Brandt; three great-grandchildren, Audrey, Maxwell and Collin; two brothers, David (Barbara) Haefer of Reedsburg and LaMoine (Elaine) Haefer of Cottage Grove; two sisters, Betty Hinze of Reedsburg and Karen (David) Allen of Reedsburg; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Haefer of Prairie du Chein and Gail Brandt of Tuscon, Arizona; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Reuben, on Nov. 9, 2006; and two brothers, Edward Haefer and Marvin Haefer.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Paul Crolius officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Peter’s Scholarship Fund would be appreciated.
