Mike Andersen, 55, of Reedsburg, passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017.

Mike was born on Jan. 7, 1962. His favorite thing in the world was spending time with his family — they meant the world to him. His second love was traveling anywhere. He learned to love hiking and backpacking at Glacier National Park and his training ground was Devils Lake State Park.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Rhonda of 35 years; his daughter Erin Andersen of Madison; son Christopher (Dr. Desiré) Andersen of St. Joseph, Michigan; and his little bundle of joy, grandson Ethan Michael. Mike is also survived by his father James Andersen of Briggsville; sister Katherine (Frank) Shaw of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida;, brothers, Kevin Andersen of Missouri and Mark (Annette) Andersen of Clinton, Missouri; grandma Dolores Andersen of Burlington, Illinois; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, in-laws and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother Karen (Schairer) Andersen; his stepmother Hazel (Moore) Andersen; and his grandparents, Louis Schairer, Everett Andersen and M. Jean Schairer.

Mike will be greatly missed by anyone who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov.14, 2017, at Redlin Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathan Tipton presiding. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, we would like to make a donation in Mike’s memory to Glacier SAR and A.L.E.R.T. Air Ambulance of Kalispell, Montana.

Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
