Simon Dischler, 94, of the town of Sumpter, passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at St. Clare Hospital, Baraboo.
He was born May 25, 1923, the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Laubmeier) Dischler. He was united in marriage to Mary Jane Pulvermacher on June 22, 1950, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Sauk City. Simon was a United States veteran having served in the Army. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, dancing, horseshoes, woodworking, 4-H and his time spent on the farm. He was an all-around good-natured guy.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; his four children, Lucille (Ted) Danube, Keith (Jane), Beverly Simonds and Pamela Dischler; four grandchildren, Michelle (Brett), Cinnamon (Matthew), Shana (Billy) and Tim; two great-grandchildren, twins Aksel and Amelia; and one sister, Clara Ruegsegger.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra; son-in-law, Donald Simonds; and 10 siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Sauk City. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9-11:15 a.m. Wednesday at Hooverson Funeral Home, Sauk City.
