Rita A. Anderson, 93, of Reedsburg, passed away Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, at Casa de Oaks in Reedsburg.
She was born Dec. 27, 1923, in the town of Seven Mile Creek, Juneau County, the daughter of Patrick and Bridget (Fox) Fitzgerald. Rita was a graduate of the Sauk County Teachers College. On Aug. 13, 1946, she was married to Raymond H. Anderson. Rita was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, Altar Society, Reedsburg Hospital Auxiliary, Sauk County Retired Teachers and the Sauk County 4-H Board and she was also a leader. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her four children, Bonnie (Steve) Ellett of Lake Delton, Pat (Deb) Anderson of Reedsburg, Betty (Tom) Hemberger of Baraboo and Renae (Bill Kettler) Anderson of Madison; eight grandchildren, Richard (Valori) Ellett, Chad (Trudy) Ellett, Tracy (Jeromy) Gruber, Joey (Mowbray) Lubasi, Sara (Pete) Strelau, Mark (Heather) Hemberger, Casey (Chelsea) Kettler and Reginal Givens; 13 great- grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ray; her parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg, with Father David Carrano officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at Sacred Heart Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart School Endowment Fund or the Reedsburg Area Medical Center Foundation.
