Bernard T. “Bernie” DeBaets, 66, of Oak Creek, left us too soon on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017.

Bernie was born on March 10, 1951, in Mauston. He was a retiree of Delphi in Oak Creek. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing guitar and spending time with his boys. He also enjoyed watching Western and James Bond movies and professional wrestling. Bernie will be sorely missed and will be fondly remembered for his huge heart, generous spirit and boisterous laugh.

Bernie was the loving “Pa” of Jason (Kendra) and Aaron (Stacy) DeBaets; “Hunting Papa” of Cole, Jacob, Aiden, Owen, Brendan and Emerson; beloved brother of Raymond (Mary) and Donald (the late Judith) DeBaets; brother-in-law of Elizabeth and Patricia DeBaets. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Kathryne; brothers, William (Arlene), Robert and Eugene DeBaets.

Memorial visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, at Prasser-Kleczka Funeral Home, 6080 S. 27th St., Milwaukee. Memorial service will be held following the visitation at 6 p.m. Private inurnment.

Prasser-Kleczka Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
