M. LaVona “Vonie” Schorer, 103, of Reedsburg, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, at Our House Senior Living on 17th Court in Reedsburg.
She was born June 27, 1914, in Sauk City, the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Moll) Dresen. On April 5, 1934, she was married to W.C. Schorer Jr. Vonie was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters and the Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, volunteering at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center and she was an avid Wisconsin Badger football and basketball fan.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Pat Schorer of Reedsburg; her grandson Cale Schorer, and his fiancée Tayna Cox; two great-grandchildren, Peyton and Jaxson; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 5, 1969; her parents; and her sister Hazel Schroeder.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg, with Father David Carrano and Father Tait Schroeder concelebrating. Interment will be in the Sauk City Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg and will be held after 10 a.m. Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials for masses or the Sacred Heart School Endowment Fund would be appreciated.
