Barbara Garbacz-Rush, 76, of Wisconsin Dells, passed away Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, at St. Clare Meadows in Baraboo.

Barbara was born Aug. 17, 1941, in Wisconsin Rapids, the daughter of Archie and Bernice (Roloff) Clark. Her family later relocated to Bensenville, Illinois, where she graduated high school and then was married to Thomas Garbacz in 1960. They raised six children together, and later would relocate to the Wisconsin Dells area in 1983. Shortly after, Barbara endured the great loss of her husband, Thomas to cancer after 25 years of marriage in 1985. Barbara remarried in 2002 to Gerald Rush of Racine. In 2003, she would lose Gerald to cancer.

Barbara was a loving, patient, accepting person who always knew how to roll with the punches. She enjoyed her grandchildren very much, especially “grandma’s girls.” Although, she often looked upon the boys to help spruce up the furniture arrangements around the house each time they visited “Sconsin” grandma.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Thomas (Joann) of Villa Park, Illinois, Jeffrey of Lombard, Illinois, Brian (Lisa) of Lily Lake, Illinois, Andrew of Wisconsin Dells, Jason (Stacey) of Wisconsin Dells, and foster son Angelo Fantuzzi of Fergus Falls, Minnesota; her daughter, Amy (Tony) Bellissimo of Coram, New York; brothers, Robert (Mary) Clark of Bensenville, Illinois, William (Verna) Clark of Lombard, Illinois, and Bruce (Susan) Clark of Stone Mountain, Georgia; sister, Sandy (Merril) Cork of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren, Tommy (Ashley), Mark, Matthew, Jacob, Justin, Jeremy, Grace, Benjamin, Zachary, Joseph, Emma, Spencer, Kayla and Jenna.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Thomas and Gerald; brother, Arthur Clark; sister, Patricia Hawkins; and her parents-in-law, Andrew and Jean Garbacz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Wisconsin Dells, with Father Eric Sternberg celebrating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church or the SJS Cancer Support Team of Baraboo.
