The 17th annual Sauk County TRIAD Senior Citizen Vehicle Winterization Safety Checks were recently completed. TRIAD is a cooperative effort between senior citizens, police departments and sheriff's departments in the community to work together to reduce victimization of senior citizens.

A big thank you to our co-sponsor Glacier Valley Ford and mechanic Ken McDevitt for volunteering his service and expertise. The generosity of our co-sponsors makes this event possible every year.

The winners for the gift card drawings were: $25, Marion Johnson; $20, James Getschman; $15, Darleen Toman; $10, Sonja Brooks; $10, Linda Baumeister.

A special thank you to all of our volunteers who donated their time: Cathy Bindl from the Sauk County Aging and Disability Resource Center, DeeDee Heath of St. Clare Hospital and Health Services/Goldencare Advisor and our TRIAD volunteers, Judy Hintze and Dale Plamann. I would like to take a moment to thank Baraboo District EMS, Brian, Rick and Andy for taking the time to be on hand for blood pressure checks.

Thank you to the senior citizens who attended our car clinics. Every year we look forward to teaming up with the various sponsors in Sauk County to provide this service free of charge for senior citizens.

Michelle Backeberg, Sauk County TRIAD Coordinator, Baraboo
