Dodge County Public Heath Officer Jody Langfeldt would only identify the victim, because of family and patient confidentiality laws, as an adult.
“For most people, the 2009 H1N1 flu is not severe. However, we know the virus can be especially dangerous for children, individuals with compromised immune systems and those with chronic health issues,” Langfeldt said in a press release. “We expect more H1N1 vaccine to be available in the coming weeks.
“We recommend that those individuals who are at high risk for severe disease from H1N1 get vaccinated to protect themselves against H1N1 when vaccine becomes available.”

Cases of the H1N1 flu have been reported in 69 of the state’s 72 counties.
