MARKESAN — Del Monte Foods will be sponsoring the next Teachers Discovery Traveling Exhibit at the Markesan Public Library Aug. 1 through 8. The exhibit will feature Diego Rivera, Mexicos greatest muralist.
Week-long events at the library will be the traveling exhibit, a book and video display along with an ethnic display. Artist note cards will again be available for purchase.
Everyone is encouraged to include their name to win note cards or a ruler by completing a short quiz. You may also include your name to win a Diego Rivera finger puppet. Jigsaw puzzle enthusiasts may work on The Flower Seller, a painting of vibrant colors by Diego Rivera.
Dont miss the unveiling of the spectacular Markesan mural on Saturday, Aug. 1. This mural has been painted by the Roy Creek Ramblers. Kathy Casey will be at the library on Thursday, Aug. 6. She will be talking about Diego Rivera during the lunch hour noon to 1 p.m. Be sure to bring your lunch. Dessert and beverage will be served.
