While others are waiting for their chance to get a glimpse of Johnny Depp in the movie "Public Enemies," several locals are anxiously waiting for a chance to be part of the movie.
With local shooting delayed twice in the last month, extras may have had more than enough time to prepare for their roles.
The movie is tentatively set to resume shooting in Columbus on Monday and in Beaver Dam and Columbus on Tuesday.
Jesse Robinson, Hustisford, was well aware, even when he went for a fitting in late April, that he may not know when he will be called to appear in the scene. He could be called up on the day of filming.
"It was fun," Robinson said. "I got there and tried on different outfits. The wardrobe department coordinated different clothes that fit with the 1930s theme. By the end, they finally chose one."
Robinson said after reading that "Public Enemies" was looking for cowboy types he knew it would be a perfect fit for him.
"That's right up my alley," he said.
Robinson was born in Tucson, Ariz.
"My mom brought me up with a love of cowboys, horses and the American West and instilled the simple life of being a country boy," Robinson said.
He was raised in Wisconsin but still loves riding horses. Robinson said that he will keep secret about his role in order to keep the integrity of the movie.
Dillinger was in Tucson, Ariz., where the scenes at The Rogers are to take place, so the assumption can be made that Robinson will be in this scene and return to his roots of Arizona
The Rogers has been transformed into Tucson's Congress Hotel, and filming is tentatively set to begin there on Tuesday. Cactus have even been planted in front of the hotel
The would-be extra said that he has had to keep some secrets about the movie but for the most part his life has gone on as normal while waiting to be called.
"I was given a phone number to call regarding the delays and the studio also keeps in contact with me. There has been no problem in regard to communication," Robinson said. "I still remain excited as ever to be honored that I was selected as an extra for the 'Public Enemies' movie and look forward to whenever my scenes are shot.
"The toughest part of waiting is keeping my face shaved. I usually wear a mustache and goatee. My hair has grown since my wardrobe fitting and hair cut on April 21, so it will be up to the studio if they will cut my hair again. After all I signed up to do a job for the studio, and it is at their discretion what it is I must do. In the meantime I continue my life as usual with work or volunteering and really look forward to my scene."
After shooting the scenes the extras will still have to wait to see if they made it into the movie.
"Hopefully, you'll see me in the movie," said Stephanie Moore, a teacher at Wilson Elementary School. "But there is no way of knowing until the movie comes out."
Moore appeared as a bystander in a scene that was shot last weekend in Madison and as a parent in another scene that was shot on Monday.
"I'm excitedly waiting for the movie," Moore said. "I don't even know when it will come out."
The movie is tentatively scheduled to be released in the summer of 2009.
