A person was killed in a one-vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 49 and County Road Z early Sunday morning in the town of LeRoy.
At 2:15 a.m. on Sunday, a pickup truck pulling an enclosed trailer was traveling west on Highway 49 at the intersection with County Road Z. The vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, struck a guardrail, then rolled down an embankment and caught fire. The driver was unable to get out of the vehicle, and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dodge County Medical Examiner.
The identity of the driver has not yet been determined.
The Brownsville Fire Department, Brownsville First Responders, Mayville EMS, Dodge County Crash Investigation Team, Dodge County Medical Examiner and Dodge County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team.
