Man accused of injuring three in hit and run

A 17-year-old Rubicon boy has been charged with three counts of hit and run causing injury that stem from an alleged crash in August.

Austin M. Jacklin, W1465 Highway S, is accused of injuring three people when he drove through a stop sign at the intersection of Highway N and Goodland Road in Rubicon and rear-ended a truck on Aug. 14.

According to a complaint, the driver of the truck, Paul E. Bruckert, 43, Lomira, was injured. Also injured were Jacklin and his passengers, Ashley R. Lazich, 19, Neosho, and Charles A. Sellinger, 18, Rubicon. Jacklin, Sellinger and a third man who was uninjured in the crash fled the scene. They were located about a half a mile south of the scene near Goodland Road.

Jacklin faces up to nine months in jail and a $10,000 fine for each of three misdemeanor counts.
