School referendum vote set for Tuesday

By CITIZEN STAFF

WAUPUN — A group of Fox Lake citizens, angered over the closing of their elementary school as part of a cost cutting move by the Waupun Area School District, have asked to leave the Waupun Area School District, and join the Randolph School District.

Tuesday, citizens in the Waupun and Randolph school districts will go to the polls and vote on the matter.

The question on the ballot is: Shall the following question be approved?

Shall the territory located within the City of Fox Lake and the Township of Fox Lake which is presently a part of the Waupun Area School District be detached from the Waupun Area School District and attached to the Randolph School District effective July 1, 2010?

A yes vote means Fox Lake will be annexed to Randolph schools.

A no vote means Fox Lake will remain part of Waupun schools.

If there is a split vote, with the referendum question passing in one school district and failing in the other, the referendum will fail.
