Randolph Police Beat

Abandoned vehicle — The Randolph Police Department had an abandoned vehicle towed at 11:35 a.m. on Oct. 29 from the 200 block of Adams Street.

Operating after suspension — A 25-year-old Randolph woman was pulled over at 10:57 p.m. on Oct. 29 after an officer recognized her from previous contacts as someone who does not have a valid license. She was cited for operating after suspension

Intoxicated pedestrian — An officer observed a 23-year-old Randolph man staggering near the junction of Williams and Stark streets at 9:50 p.m. on Oct. 30. The man was very intoxicated and was released to a responsible adult.

Underage drinking — An officer was paged out to the 500 block of South High Street at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 31 for a report of a person who said their tire blew out and they needed assistance. The officer found a 20-year-old West Bend man who did not know where he was, where his car was and had no money. The man was uncooperative with the officer but agreed to a preliminary breath test. His result was .121. He was cited for underage drinking and obstructing an officer and taken to a detox facility in Madison. His vehicle was found on Highway 73 on the southern limits of the village.

Speeding — A 31-year-old Illinois man was pulled over for speeding at 11:19 p.m. on Oct. 31 on North High Street. He was cited for traveling 39 mph in a 25 mph zone.

Illegal use of radio — An officer observing traffic near the corner of North High and Cambria streets heard a loud bass coming from a distance at 7:46 p.m. on Nov. 1. The driver, a 16-year-old boy, had been warned previously about loud music coming from his vehicle. He was cited for illegal use of the radio.

Disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle — An officer observed a vehicle in a parking lot on Kienow Drive accelerating rapidly with squealing tires as the vehicle left the lot at 7:29 p.m. on Nov. 2. The driver, a 37-year-old Randolph man, was cited for disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle.

Domestic dispute — An officer responded to a call for mutual aid from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Department at 1 p.m. on Nov. 3 for a report of a domestic dispute in the 100 block of Madison Street in the village of Friesland. It was a verbal dispute between a man and woman and no arrests were made.

Harassment — An officer received a complaint of harassing phone calls being made at 10:14 p.m. on Nov. 3 and spoke to both parties involved to resolve the issue.

Operating without a license — An officer stopped a vehicle at 6:58 p.m. on Nov. 4 after running a check of the license plate and learning that the registered owner was listed as having an instructional permit that expired in 2006. The driver was cited for operating a vehicle without a driver’s license.

EMS Assist — An officer assisted the Randolph EMS at 7:56 p.m. on Nov. 4 during a call for an ill female in the 300 block of Tamarack St.

Operating after revocation — An officer observed a 23-year-old man driving at 8:38 p.m on Nov. 4 and recognized him as someone who had had his driver’s license revoked. The man was cited for operating after revocation.
