The Beaver Dam Area Arts Association announces its annual fall membership campaign and patron drive during November.
A letter to past and current members will be sent by mail mid month, along with invitations for membership and financial support. The BDAAA board has also planned an evening of phoning potential patrons as well on Monday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Executive Director Karla Jensen said, “Without the support of area artists, residents and businesses, our community would not be able to sustain such a vibrant and wonderful place as so many families and individuals have found in the Seippel Arts Center. We provide an outlet for artists to thrive, and earn income, but also serve as a place to educate and inspire the next generation of creative thinkers.”
Jensen has chosen the theme “Ignite the Artist Within,” for the upcoming year as the community becomes further involved in the traditional quality exhibits BDAAA has offered in the past while continuing to incorporate new, educational and fun opportunities.
“We are trying to be as cutting edge as possible with new events like our short film course this fall and an Elder Hostel-style week of art next spring, along with our first ever Youth Art Camp this summer,” Jensen said. “No matter what age you are, there is something for everyone at the Seippel Arts Center.”
The BDAAA board and Jensen have been diligently working to cut costs while maintaining a high profile presence in Dodge County. Jensen hopes community members will be open and generous in their contributions by phone or mail so BDAAA can continue to create a budget that will sustain programs over the course of the next year.
“We are a fortunate community to have a resource like the Seippel Center where anyone of any age can learn something new, see something beautiful, create from your imagination and be inspired. Art can take you away from it all or channel your creativity in ways you never imagined,” Jensen said.
She added, “We are also a hub for tourism because when someone from outside the community wants something special to do in Beaver Dam and Dodge County besides enjoying the lake, the marsh, restaurants and shops, here we are, a unique escape that can instantly take you elsewhere just by stepping inside our doors.”
