JUNEAU —A 37-year-old Beaver Dam man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for sexually assaulting two young girls, aged 12 and 15, on numerous occasions.

Dodge County Judge Brian Pfitzinger also sentenced Robert Contreras to 10 years of supervision.

Contreras entered into a plea deal with prosecutors and pleaded no contest in October to two felony charges of third degree sexual assault. In return, five child sex and enticement charges were dismissed and read into court records.

According to a criminal complaint, Contreras sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl on two occasions at her home in Beaver Dam between February and March 2008.

A DNA mixture profile collected from the victim was linked to Contreras, and an analyst with the State Crime Lab later told police there is a 1 in 187,000 chance the DNA came from someone other than Contreras.

Police then interviewed a 15-year-old girl who reported that Contreras had sex with her on numerous occasions while he dated her mother between May 2006 and March 2008.

The girl stated in the complaint that on one occasion Contreras had given her cocaine, and on other occasions he supplied her with alcohol and prescription drugs.

The 15-year-old victim stated in the complaint that she decided to have sex with Contreras on one occasion because she was, “so intoxicated from the drugs and alcohol.”
