Several choirs will combine their efforts this holiday season for a concert to benefit the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign.
The “Red Kettle Concert” will be held on Dec. 6, at 3 p.m. at Trinity Church-United Methodist.
This is the first of what organizers hope will be an annual event to benefit the Salvation Army.
According to Karl Nienhuis, who co-chairs the Red Kettle Campaign for the Beaver Dam Noon Kiwanis, three church choirs and three bell choirs from area churches have already committed to the event.
Nienhuis said other musical groups will also be performing and an ecumenical choir, combining all of the choirs present and other individuals who wish to perform, will sing “The Holly and the Ivy” and finish with the “Hallelujah Chorus.”
A free-will offering will be taken with proceeds going to the Dodge County Salvation Army,
Any individuals wishing to participate in the ecumenical choir should call Nienhuis at 885-3409. A rehearsal will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Trinity Church-United Methodist at 308 Oneida St. in Beaver Dam.
