TOWN OF HERMAN — A 17-year-old boy was fatally injured in car crash during the early morning hours on Saturday.
According to officials at the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Nathaniel Rehbein was driving a car west on Woodbound Road, .1 mile east of Lilac Road, when his car entered the north ditch and struck a culvert in the field drive. Upon impact the car vaulted through the air and came to rest on its roof in the north ditch facing eastbound.
The accident was reported at 3:22 a.m. Rehbein was not wearing a seatbelt and both airbags were deployed. He was pronounced dead at the scene and was the only occupant in the car.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the accident but speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
Dodge County Chaplain, Dodge County Medical Examiner, Hartland, Woodland, and Neosho Fire Departments and the Neosho First Responders and Hartford EMS also assisted in the investigation.
