Highway 16/60 crash

According to a news release from Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, it is believed that speed and alcohol were factors in this crash on Highway 16/60 late Nov. 4. 

TOWN OF ELBA — A man driving a pickup truck drove off the road and collided with a tree Saturday night, resulting in life-threatening injuries.

According to a news release from Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, at 10:37 p.m., the office responded to a pickup truck crash at W12390 Highway 16/60 in the town of Elba.

Preliminary investigation shows that Joshua R. Marks, 28, of rural Columbus, was driving a 2008 Ford Ranger east on Highway 16/60 when the truck moved off the road, into a front yard and struck a tree.

Marks was transported to UW Hospital with life-threating injuries.

The new release states that it is believed that speed and alcohol were factors in this crash, which remains under investigation by the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team.

Assisting at the scene was Columbus Fire Department, Lifestar EMS, Columbus Police Department and Dodge County Emergency Response Team.
