WAUPUN — A Friday night parade featuring a truck with 700 lights, a Saturday afternoon parade and a semi-load full of trophies are not the only draws to the 24th annual Waupun Truck-N-Show being held this week.

According to Truck-N-Show president Ron VandeZande, there will be rides for kids, music day and night, BBQs and a Lions breakfast.

The event is at the Community Center, 500 E. Main St. Parking and entrance are free, and rides will be provided by volunteers in golf carts.

“There will be something for everyone,” said VandeZande. “Many of the truckers will be coming to meet old friends, and there will be plenty of truck vendors.”

“There will be an auction at 7 p.m. to see which truckers get the first five spots for the Friday night parade, the proceeds which go to the Special Olympic, and another auction Saturday noon for the first five spots in the afternoon parade, the proceeds which go the Make A wish Foundation,” said VandeZande.

“I’d like to invite everyone living on Main Street (both parades go down Main Street) to invite their friends to come to the party,” said VandeZande.

VandeZande said they anticipate more than 300 trucks registering, and they are looking for volunteer help; just call 324-9985.
