MAYVILLE — The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting next week to preview the upcoming reconstruction work on Highways 28 (Horicon Street) and 67 (Main Street) in Mayville.
The meeting will be held from 5-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mayville City Hall, 15 S. School St. A short presentation will be made at 5:30 p.m. Representatives from WisDOT, the city of Mayville and the construction contractor will be available to discuss the project.
Construction on Horicon Street between Clark Street and Main Street is scheduled for early March through August. Horicon Street will be closed to through traffic during construction and detoured using highways 33 and 67.
Work on Main Street between Horicon Street and Ruedebusch Street is scheduled for July to October. Main Street will be closed and detoured using Highways 33 and 28. During concurrent work on Horicon Street and Main Street between Clark and Ruedebusch, scheduled for July and August, Horicon and Main will be closed and detoured using Wisconsin 33 and County P.
Access to residents and businesses in the work zones will be maintained during construction.
The projects will remove and replace the existing pavement, curb and gutter, sidewalk, storm sewer, street lighting, signals, pavement marking and permanent signing. The city of Mayville will also replace sanitary sewer and water lines throughout the projects.
