Norma J. Banes, 85, Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, at Dycora Transitional Health & Living.

A visitation will take place from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Frieden’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Randolph. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Daniel Schumann officiating. Burial will take place at Randolph Cemetery.

Norma was born the daughter of Amos and Myrna (Jenkins) Dobbratz in Beaver Dam. She was a graduate of Randolph High School. On Aug. 15, 1952, she was united in marriage with John R. “Jack” Banes at Frieden’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Randolph.

Norma was a longtime member of Frieden’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Randolph, where she also served as a member of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed bowling and flower gardening, and she loved to collect angels.

She is survived by her son, Roger (Sandi) Banes of Beaver Dam; daughter, Brenda (Steve) Coles of Carrabelle, Florida; a sister, Lolita (Al) Syens; three brothers, Dave (Bev) Dobbratz, John (Winifred “Winkie”) Dobbratz and Eugene (Elaine) Dobbratz; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; in-laws; three sisters; a stepbrother; and an infant great-granddaughter.
