COLUMBUS - Edna A. Hodgson, 89, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 9, 2008 at the Columbus Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family.
Edna was born on Sept. 18, 1918, to Edward and Anna (Hollnagel) Kurth in Green Lake County. She was married to Wilbert Lange on Jan. 21, 1939, in Beaver Dam, and was later married to Hilbert Hodgson on Oct. 2, 1982, in Beaver Dam.
Edna was employed at Wisconsin Porcelain in Sun Prairie for 17 years before retirement. She was a crossing guard for the city of Beaver Dam for over 10 years. Edna was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid Society.
Survivors include her husband, Hilbert, Columbus; three daughters, Shirley Banetzke, Helen Petrich and Nancy Lange, all of Columbus; a son, Donald Lange, Steamboat Springs, Colo.; step-children, Betty (Wayne) Hildebrandt, Watertown, Dennis (Joan) Hodgson and Dale (Diane) Hodgson, both of Horicon, and Bonnie Hodgson, Hartford; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a special niece, Florence "Fluffer" Smith, Pardeeville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband; two sisters and seven brothers; a grandson, Scott Dykstra, and two sons-in-law, Howard Petrich and DeWayne Banetzke.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Columbus. The Rev. Robert Wilke will officiate. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Columbus. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Wednesday.
