Wilmer L. Radke

MAYVILLE - Wilmer L. Radke, 92, formerly of 18 S. School St. Mayville, died on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, at Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where Wilmer was a resident for seven years.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 6, at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church (River Church), in the town of Theresa. The Rev. Mark Berlin will officiate. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, town of Theresa. Friends may call on Wednesday, Aug. 6, from noon until 2 p.m., at the church.

Wilmer was born on April 24, 1916, in the town of Theresa, the son of Wilhelm and Lydia (Degner) Radke. He was married to Lucille Schrab on Nov. 2, 1937, in the town of Theresa.

Wilmer farmed near Iron Ridge, moved to Mayville in 1964 and was employed by the city of Mayville street department until retirement. He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church (River Church), town of Theresa, where he served as an elder and on other committees and held an office with L.L.L.

Survivors include one daughter, Betty (Jerry) Engmann, Mayville; in-laws, Agnes Radke, Hartford, Verda (Elmer) Margelofsky, Mayville, Lorraine (Elmer) Vorlob, Mayville, Irene Picha, Colorado, Carol Schrab, Washington, and LaVerne (Don) Gubin, Juneau; grandchildren, Julie (Dan) Day, Horicon, and Jeffrey Engmann, Menomonee Falls; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Kayla; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 2001; one daughter, Lila Mae, in 1980; brothers, Walter, Elmer and Ruben, and sisters, Esther Kluge and Ruth Hanni.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church.

Koepsell Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 301 N. Walnut St., Mayville, is serving the family.
