RACINE -- Laurel Lynn Marschke, 41, of Racine, formerly of Watertown, passed away on Thursday Aug. 21, 2008, at All Saints Wheaton Franciscan Hospital in Racine. She was born on Nov. 22, 1966, in Watertown, the daughter of Robert and Kathryn (Bergin) Lischka. She was a graduate of St. Bernard's Elementary School, a 1985 grad of Watertown High School and a1990 graduate of Carroll College in Waukesha. She married Sean Marschke on Oct. 22, 1994, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Watertown. She worked as a bookkeeper for Felle & Beck SC in Racine. She was a Red Cross water safety instructor, a member of St. Edward's Book Club and a member of St. Lucy's Catholic Church of Racine.
Survivors include her husband, Sean Marschke, of Racine; a daughter Caylyn Marschke of Racine; parents Robert and Kathryn Lischka of Watertown; sister Linda (Don) Olson of Andover, Minn.; brother Layne Lischka of Scottsdale, Ariz.; parents-in-law Gregory (Catherine) Marschke of Sussex; brother-in-law David Marschke of Oconomowoc; grandmother Lu Marschke of Sussex. Laurel is also survived by two nephews, Andrew and Matthew Olson; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Hannah O. Bergin.
Funeral services will be held noon on Tuesday, Aug. 26, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church Watertown with the Rev. James Bergin SVD and the Rev. John Bergin SVD officiating. A private family burial will be held at St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery in Watertown. Visitation will be Tuesday 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
Memorials to Caylyn's Education Fund or Breast Cancer Recovery Foundation would be appreciated.
The family wishes to express deep and heartfelt appreciation to all the many friends and family who have so graciously contributed meals, time, resources and caring throughout Laurel's illness, your generosity will never be forgotten.
