Marie A. Bubolz, 100, of the Charleston House in Beaver Dam, died on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
Marie was born in the Town of Leeds in Columbia County on Sept. 24, 1909, to Herman and Anna (Junge) Manthe. She was united in marriage to Herman Bubolz on Nov. 22, 1941, at the Parsonage at Friedens Ev. Lutheran Church in Randolph.
Marie farmed in the Town of Fox Lake, near Lake Emily, for many years. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam and a former member of Friedens Ev. Lutheran Church in Randolph. She was an avid bingo player and found great pleasure in sewing and quilting. She also enjoyed crocheting items for her family and friends, along with many baby blankets for the Teen Counseling Center. Marie treasured her family and enjoyed all of the time she spent with them.
Marie is survived by her three sons, John (Barbara) Bubolz of Fox Lake, Wayne (Dorie) Bubolz of Juneau, and Mark (Dianne) Bubolz of Watertown; her daughter-in-law, Marilyn Bubolz of Texas; her grandchildren, David (Kimberly) Bubolz, Paul (Karla) Bubolz, Michael (Julie) Bubolz, Heather Manthey, Curtis (Melanie) Bubolz, Adam Bubolz, Andrew (Rachel) Bubolz, and Julianne (Kevin) Moss; and her great-grandchildren, Krystal, Logan, Kayla, Kelsey, Cole, McKenna, Brieanna, Alison, Emily and Savannah. Marie is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1987, her son Russell in 1996, her brother Herbert, two sisters, Frances and Ella, and other relatives.
A funeral service for Marie will be held on Friday, Oct. 30, at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd, Beaver Dam at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mark Wendland officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the funeral home.
