HORICON - Florence J. Neuendorf, 90, of Horicon, died on Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at Cedar Lake Health and Rehab in West Bend.
The visitation will be at Zion Lutheran Church in Horicon on Thursday, Nov. 5, from noon until 2 p.m. The funeral service will follow at the church on Thursday, beginning at 2 p.m. The Rev. Mark Hasty will officiate. Burial will be at Stone Cemetery, Burnett, Dodge County.
The former Florence Janet Klossner was born on Aug. 5, 1919, to Frank and Brunhilda (Wendt) Klossner, in Minnesota Junction, Dodge County. On Aug. 28, 1937, she was united in marriage with Melvin Neuendorf in Horicon. Florence had worked at the Marlin Toy Company in Horicon for 10 years. She was very active in the Horicon area; she volunteering for the Horicon Senior Meal Site, she was active in the Senior Citizens group and she was a life-member of the VFW Woman’s Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Tarpon Springs, Fla.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol (Robert) Peters, West Bend; her son, James (Dianne) Neuendorf, New Port Richey, Fla.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her brother, Earl (Rose) Klossner, Beaver Dam; her sister, Mary (Leslie) Remmick, Sandy, Ore; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, John Neuendorf, and brother, Frank Klossner, Jr. and his wife Florence, a sister, Ruth Castleman and her husband, Melvin, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Bernice Neuendorf, Viola and Ervin Schielke, and Ruth and Bernard Ebert.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Florence’s name to the Leukemia Foundation
