Hilmer A. Krause

Hilmer A. Krause, Sr., 83, of Juneau, passed away at Golden LivingCenter in Randolph on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009.

Hilmer was born June 21, 1926, in Farmington, the son of Edward and Elizabeth (Dobratz) Krause. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Hilmer’s greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in the northwoods.

He is survived by his son, Hilmer Jr. (Maria) Krause, Beaver Dam; grandchildren, Brian (Linda) Krause Phelps, Cheryl (Tom) Sahr, Juneau, Jodi (Todd) Apel, Beaver Dam, and Scott Ferstl, Waupun; great-grandchildren, Kodie Freriks, Dana Mueller, Nathan and Aaron Krause, Peyton and Caleb Apel, Chelsea and Kayla Sahr; two brothers, Carl (Shirley) Krause, Juneau, and Ed (Kathy) Krause, Juneau. Hilmer will be deeply missed by his special friend Grace Foss. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Hilmer is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Inez Ruth (Kramer) Krause, on Feb. 23, 2000, a son, Kerry Krause, and a brother, Walter Krause. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau and Thursday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral service will follow at the church at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Paul Hirsch will officiate. Interment will be in Highland Memory Gardens. Military honors under the auspices of American Legion Post 15.

Memorials to the family to be dispersed in accordance to their wishes would be appreciated.
