COLUMBUS - Frederick George Rennhack, 87, of Columbus passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at Columbus Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Columbus with the Rev. Robert Wilke officiating. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. Private family inurnment will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Columbus at a later date.
Fritz was born on March 25, 1922, the son of Fred and Lena (Weihert) Rennhack. He was married to Elverna Straseski on Aug. 2, 1941. For many years they made their home at 639 S. Main St. in Columbus, where they raised their four children.
Fritz was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Columbus. He was employed for many years at Metalfab in Columbus and Beaver Dam. After retirement Fritz worked part-time at Caldwell Lumber in Columbus finding homes for the many stray cats that wandered into the “box factory.” What was most important to Fritz was his love for his family.
Fritz is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Elverna, Columbus; four children, Dennis Rennhack, Adams, David (Becky) Rennhack, Arena, Patricia (Robert) Boness, Columbus, and Pamela (Richard) Schoen, Minnetonka, Minn.; 13 grandchildren, Debra Kranz, Dawn Shelton, Darci Bosse, Kristina (Erek) Isensee, Jennifer (Chuck) Emerson, Lisa (Todd) Birkrem, Kimberly Rennhack, Jacquelyn (Troy) Frank, Samantha Rennhack, Erin (Erik) Rajek, Jacob Boness, Madeleine Schoen, and Isabel Schoen; 20 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carolyn Rennhack; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, James Rennhack and Merlyn Will; and his sisters, Olive Kleinschmidt, Janette Wendt and Pauline Eno.
