Howard E. Tietz

Howard Elmer Tietz, age 65, went to his eternal home on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at his Randolph residence, surrounded by his family.

 Howard was born on July 17, 1944, in the town of Lowell, a son of Elmer and Helen (Frank) Tietz.  He was baptized and confirmed in St. Stevens Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. He attended school in the Beaver Dam/Fall River area, and as a young man worked on farms as a hired hand. Howard was inducted into the United States Army in 1962, was discharged in 1964 and served in the reserves until 1968. He worked for Beaver Silo Company for a number of years prior to his employment with Kirsh Foundry.  On Dec. 18, 1965, he was united in marriage to Rosemary Bagneski in Beaver Dam, and they lived in that area for four years. They relocated to Waupun for 13 years prior to settling in Randolph. Howard recently retired from Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac after 40 years of employment as an assembler.  He enjoyed home remodeling projects. Howard had a love for horses, and enjoyed trail riding with his wife and grandson Mitchell. As active members of the Crystal Creek Horse Riders Club, Howard and Rosemary enjoyed riding their red duns in the annual Labor Day Korn Karnival. They also participated in other local parades.  Howard loved being “papa” to his granddaughter Kiana. He was a member of Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church of Randolph.

Howard is survived by Rosemary, his wife of 44 years; two sons, Jim Tietz and his fiancé Cindy Ray of Tyler, TX; Tom and his wife Tammie Tietz, of Cambria; four grandchildren, Michael Tietz, CO; Ashley Bierling, Canada; Mitchell Tietz, Beaver Dam; and Kiana Tietz, Cambria; his sister, Shirley (Bill) Demlow, Conover, WI; his brother, Robert Tietz, Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-and mother-in-law, Frank and Edna Bagneski; three brothers-in-law, Melvin Bobholz, Robert Bagneski, and Robert Anderson; and a sister-in-law, Marjorie Tietz.

A celebration of Howard’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Walter Goers officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Cemetery.

Howard’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Randolph Community Funeral Home, 208 S. High St., Randolph, and on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service.

A memorial fund is being established for Hillside Hospice of Beaver Dam, WI.
