MAILBAG - Good Samaritan; Awareness Day praise

Good Samaritan is praised

On May 5, I lost my wallet near downtown Beaver Dam.

Within 45 minutes I had a phone call from the Beaver Dam police station that my wallet had been returned.

I would like to thank Dan Johnson of Rio for returning my wallet.

Thank you very much. In a time when negative headlines prevail, I am happy to report good news!

Awareness Day efforts lauded

On Tuesday, April 28, Cambria-Friesland High School had Awareness Day for our students.

It was a successful day as students were able to listen and learn from various speakers or participate in an activity throughout the day. I would like to thank the following people and organizations for donating their time to our high school students.

Thanks to Kristin Hanson-Brown and Shelly Bruni, High Expectations; Barb Williams and Andrea LeStarge, United States Attorney's Office; Tim Bellau, Columbia County Connects; Chris Kamrath and Ann Killian-Khan, PAVE; Becky Gutzman, Columbia County UW Extension; Jess Ritschke, Hope House; Jay Yerges, Columbia County Sheriff's Department, and Jeff Koopmans, Farmers & Merchants Union Bank.
