Kids for Kids Walk on Oct. 24 to support area needy
Some of the people most in need in our community are the children in Beaver Dam being raised in poverty.
Can you imagine not having enough money for a haircut, dental work, or sometimes even food?
That is why we have decided to raise money for the elementary students in our district in need through the first-ever Beaver Dam Unified School District Kids for Kids Walk.
This walk will be held on Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. to noon at Beaver Dam High School. Elementary students in the district will be asked to collect or make a donation to walk the cross country route for their classmates. The funds will go into the BDUSD PPS medical/dental fund for children in our district.
The date of Make a Difference Day falls at the end of Red Ribbon Week. We have therefore decided to combine this with a celebration of healthy decisions. We are asking for your support. In order for all the donations to go directly into the medical/dental fund we are asking you to make a monetary donation to offset operating expenses Any extra money donated will go directly into the medical/dental fund.
We know that you are asked to support causes all the time and we realize that in this economy you need to make difficult choices. Any donation will make a difference in the lives of children.
Donations can be sent to c/o Jeni and Josh Tyjeski, The Kids for Kids Walk and Rally, Beaver Dam High School, 500 Gould St., Beaver Dam, WI 53916.
Thank you for considering this worthwhile cause.
