Vaccine shortage a blessing?
The Nov. 1 Daily Citizen states “flu shots postponed due to shortages.”
I can’t help but feel this vaccine shortage is truly a blessing in disguise. Why do I say this? Because it appears history is repeating itself.
Remember the 1976 so-called swine flu pandemic? That never happened. It was nothing more than a hoax, and a cruel one at that, with hundreds of people duped into taking a vaccine that not only was grossly ineffective, but dangerous, causing thousands of casualties in the form of reactions of permanent paralysis called “Guillain-Barre Syndrome,” even death.
Also, the issue of mercury as a preservative in the vaccine raises the potential that toxic amounts cause neurological disorders such as autism.
To quote Mayor Einstein, M.D., J.D. of Rolling Meadows, Ill.: “What a blessing our nation is facing vaccine shortage for seasonal flu. Billions of dollars spent by the Obama administration to scare the public about the swine and seasonal flu and millions spent to market it and millions of Americans are going to ‘just say no.’’’
I’m sorry, the Obama administration just does not get it. You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all the people all of the time. Flu shots are highly questionable, at best.

Family thankful of benefit support
John (Buck) and Penny Jones and their family would like to thank everyone who attended the benefit at Dos Gringos on Monday, Nov. 2.
A special thank you to Scott Eberle and his friendly employees for their kindness, hard work and for allowing us to hold the benefit at Dos Gringos.
A big thank you to all for their support, phone calls, prayers, cards, donations, words of encouragement and listening.
We would like thank the people we have never met, and the people who were unable to attend the benefit but contributed to our lives in so many ways.
We are truly amazed by the people who reach out to help at a difficult time such as this. Their compassion, kindness and understanding are fantastic
I would also like to thank Sherry Mau for listening to me, being so supportive, and for the other fundraiser she set up for us and to each and every person who contributed.
Thanks to each and every one of you, we feel there is hope, and you have given us the strength to keep moving forward.
You make this world a better place. You are all very caring and very special.

Health care reform needed now
We need healthcare reform now.
My 21-year-old son son is $180,000 in debt from an automobile accident. He was employed as a seasonal worker for two years prior to the accident.
As a seasonal worker he worked an average of 40 hours per week, 80 hours during the busy season. He wasn't offered health insurance because he was a "seasonal" employee.
The driver of the car had no insurance. So, this left my son with a huge hospital bill. He will have to become another statistic by filing bankruptcy.
Had HR676 been passed in 2005 when first presented to congress he would have been covered. That’s why I'm hoping Congressman Petri votes a resounding "yes" to HR676.
