I sent the following email to Sen. Ron Johnson on Dec. 1 and submit it to the Daily Citizen as an open letter.

Dear Sen. Johnson:

I'm emailing to urge you to vote no on the current tax proposal. You have indicated over the last several days that you oppose the bill. Today, I heard you changed your mind. Please don't.

Your website has, front and center, the national debt. In all the information that I can find, the bill, and any bill agreed to in conference with the House, will raise the debt. The economic benefits in this bill won't outgrow the deficit it will create, thus adding to the national debt.

If you vote in favor of this bill, please remove the reference to the national debt from your website. It would become a disgraceful joke to keep it there.
