Waupun Police Beat

Citation — A 37-year-old Waupun man was taken into custody on Oct. 26 when police were advised of a possible drunken driver heading to Waupun. Officers located the driver and made the stop and issued him a citation for operating after revocation. He was not driving while intoxicated.

Dog case — A person called police on Oct. 23 and was concerned about a white German shepherd in the 100 block of West Franklin Street that looked skinny. Police found the dog was accidentally left outside in the rain in an uncovered kennel. The owner fell asleep. He was sorry. The dog was five months old and in good health. The owner was told that if it happens again he will be cited.

Assist — On Oct. 23 parties at the 100 block of North Forest Street were playing with handcuffs. Police found a man with his hands locked in front of him. When he put them on they were behind his back. The person said he dropped the keys and couldn’t find them. Police made the person call his parents to explain the situation before leaving.

Fraud — On Oct. 24 a woman came to the police station to complain that her ex-husband forged her name on a tax escrow check.

Fraud — On Oct. 24 a man met police and said he believes someone is trying to scam his mother who resides on the 300 block of Pleasant Avenue.

Domestic — Domestic disorderly conduct charges are being sought on a 46-year-old Waupun man who was taken to the Dodge County Justice Facility on Oct. 25 after punching the glass out of a curio cabinet because he was mad at this wife. The couple reside at the 800 block of East Jefferson Street.

Vandalism — A driver reported on Oct. 25 there was a fishing line across South Watertown Street near Wilcox street with some cans attached to it. The caller hit the cans but there was no damage to his vehicle. He said a silver Taurus passed by soon after with teens inside laughing. Cans were removed from the road.

Vandalism — On Oct. 25 police were told a window was broken at Jefferson Elementary School. 601 Grandview Ave.
