Mayville Police Beat

Theft – At 12:40 p.m. On Oct. 22 a 54-year-old Mayville man reported that between 5 p.m. Oct 21 and the time of the report someone stole a lawn ornament from the front of his garage. It is a concrete statue of a fisherman painted to resemble Reggie White. The statue is valued at $90. Police are investigating.

Theft – On Oct. 24 two 16-year-old Mayville girls were arrested for theft and burglary after a 57-year-old Fond du Lac man reported that someone entered his locked apartment complex in the 500 block of North Main Street. He observed several burned-out cigarette butts on the floor and was missing soda from the fridge and three bags of candy, valued at $10. An officer was able to identify witnesses who identified the two suspects.

Disorderly conduct – At 4:50 a.m. Oct. 26 a 34-year-old Mayville man was cited for disorderly conduct after an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of North Henninger Street for a report of a domestic dispute. The argument started when the man observed his wife chatting with another man online. They got into a verbal argument and he refused to let her leave the house to use her phone. She called police after her husband pushed her. The man left the residence for 12 hours. Neither party was injured.

Accident – At 2:50 p.m. on Oct. 27, Robert Frohn, 77, Mayville, hit a tree off South German Street after his vehicle’s steering system failed. Nobody was injured. The vehicle was towed.
