Wayland's Ptaschinski tops Northern MCC

Wayland's Jenna Ptaschinski (6) was the Player of the Year in the Northern Midwest Classic this season. Wayland senior Jenna Ptaschinski was honored as the Northern Midwest Classic’s Player of the Year in 2009. The Big Red’s outside hitter – a unanimous all-North choice – led the league in kills (5.3 kills/game), digs (5.8 k/g), 70 aces and added 33 blocks in leading Wayland to an unbeaten season and the conference title. “Clearly the best player in the league and one of the best in the area,” Wayland coach Judy Hill said.
