COLUMBUS — Columbus shot a team total of 340 strokes to take its own invitational Saturday for the third straight year.

Alex Anton led the Cardinals with an 81. Other Columbus scores included Nate Fletcher (85), Tom Jahnke (85), Billy Onheiber (89) and Ryan Clark (89, scratch).

"We hope this is good news for our conference meet coming up Wednesday," Columbus coach Jay Schroeder said. "I hope it works.

"We had all of our scores in the 80s. I think it will be an advantage for us going into the end of the year."

Waupun finished second with 358. Individuals for the Warriors included Jordan Mock (82), Jake Pusateri (89), Grant Vande Zande (93) and Justin TenPass (94).

Columbus heads to The Oaks in Cottage Grove for Monday's Capitol Meet. Waupun visits Quit-Qui-Oc at Elkhart Lake for Wednesday's final EWC Mini-Meet before Friday's 18-hole finale at Kewaskum.
