WEST BEND — Danielle Venus overpowered visiting Beaver Dam as West Bend East swept the guests by scores of 9-2 and 12-1 (five innings) Tuesday.
Venus struck out 10 and allowed four hits in game one. She struck out five and allowed five hits in the second game.
"It's not exactly the way I wanted to end conference," Beaver Dam coach Erica Schwantes said. "We all struggled at the plate and we didn't execute.
"The errors kill us and I hope the girls can see that."
BD was guilty of 14 errors, including 10 in game two. BD has been outscored in its four-game losing streak by a total of 42-3.
"I have yet to see seven innings of solid softball against a decent team," Schwantes said.
Emily Aplin doubled in game one. Mayna Muenchow tripled in game two for BD (8-11, 6-7 LTC), which awaits its Division 1 regional assignment next Tuesday.

JOHNSON CREEK — Columbus got blasted by host Johnson Creek in Tuesday's nonconference softball doubleheader.
The Cardinals followed up a 7-0 loss in game one with a 13-1 setback that lasted just five innings. Rachael Bublitz struck out seven and allowed one earned run in game one.
Columbus (12-7) hosts Lodi in Thursday's Division 2 regional opener.

GREEN LAKE — Maddie Werner and Erica Larsen each clubbed home runs for Randolph as the Rockets downed Green Lake, 7-2, in Northern Trailways softball Tuesday.
Larsen hit a solo homer in the second while Werner smashed a three-run blast in the seventh.
Werner was also solid on the mound, scattering five hits against the Lakers (10-4, 10-4 North).
Randolph (6-12, 5-9) hosts Rio in the opening round of the Division 4 playoffs Thursday.
