Beaver Dam dropped a 105-65 swimming dual meet to visiting New London Wednesday which opened the 2008 season.
"We have a very young team and I can't wait to see their progress at the end of the season," Beaver Dam coach Peggy Broome said. "With one week of practice going right into a meet, I am very proud of the effort tonight."
Kim Condon was involved in both BD victories. First she captured the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2 minutes, 29.34 seconds.
She later teamed up with Molly Hinkes, Samantha Clark and Christine Jennings on the victorious 400 freestyle relay. That foursome completed their event in a time of 4:28.84.
BD's team total was hampered by a pair of disqualifications. Broome attributed the miscues to inexperience.
"We had a few too many DQs but that will change with more time in the water," Broome said. "I am excited about the natural talent we have to work with this year."
BD's JVs came away with a 49-6 win. Next up for BD is an afternoon meet at Fort Atkinson Aug. 29.
