MCFARLAND — Beaver Dam's volleyball team was up a set and led 23-17 before dropping Saturday's title match to Richland Center at the McFarland Invitational.
"We have to figure out what's going on with our killer instinct," Bennett said. "We don't have any. We need to get that sorted out by Thursday."
BD topped Platteville (25-18, 25-17) and Denmark (25-17, 25-17) before losing to the hosts (13-25, 25-21, 15-12). BD still finished first in its pool and stopped Milton, 25-11, 25-15 in the semifinals.
The Hornets rallied for a 17-25, 25-23, 25-12 win in the title match at BD's expense. Kaitlyn McIntyre led BD with 46 kills and added 47 digs.
"Again, we got beat by our own mistakes," Bennett said. "We had a ton of serve receive errors."
Emily Goebert had 37 kills and 37 digs while Brittany Bleich added 25 kills. Emily Fischer had 59 assists to go with eight aces and Katie Poch chipped in with 58.
Kelli Kasha came up with 66 digs and eight aces. Abby Gregory had 10 blocks and eight aces for BD (13-4), which hosts Slinger Thursday night.
