Eastern Wisconsin football: Panthers outlast Warriors

By Citizen Staff

PLYMOUTH — Despite 136 yards on the ground from Taylor Nehls, the Waupun Warriors fell to Plymouth, 20-14, in Friday's Eastern Wisconsin opener.

Plymouth jumped out to a quick 14-point lead as Jon Criter threw for a touchdown, then ran one in on his own.

Waupun (1-2, 0-1 EWC) got within a touchdown early in the second quarter as Austin Armga found Andrew Visser for a 17-yard touchdown.

A field goal from Jordie Heginbottom upped the Panthers' lead to 10 at halftime.

Nehls then put Waupun within three as he rumbled in from 5-yards out on the first play of the fourth quarter.

Another Heginbottom field goal, this one from 38 yards out, ended the scoring.

Waupun hosts Kewaskum next Friday.
