Two Beaver Dam girls finished in the top 10 at Saturday's home cross country invitational.
Ericka Wild took ninth in 16 minutes, 11.71 seconds while teammate Kate Uhrich was right behind in 10th (16:12.04).
Louisa De La Cruz took 24th (16:57.8) with Amanda Henningfield in 25th (16:58.36) and Amber Mashburn in 29th (17:19.53).
On the boys side for BD, Aaron Cook paced the squad in 36th (18:55.48) with Jacob Powell right behind in 37th (18:57.29). Kurt Ulrikson was 39th (19:01.22) followed by Austin Kuzniewicz in 40th (19:07.96) and Chris Martin in 42nd (19:10.57).
"We had a lot of kids run personal bests," BD coach Hans Gochenaur said. "Some of our top runners took huge chunks of time off.
"We're looking at this race and the one coming up Thursday at Port Washington as important to get ready for the conference meet."
Wayland's top finisher on the girls team was Ashley Nevell in 54th (22:01.29).
Behind Nevell were Lindsay Cieslik (55th, 22:20.38), Mallory Simmons (55th, 22:31.34), Jillian Holmes (57th, 24:37.39) and Charlotte Lange (58th, 24:37.39).
Wayland's Derek Brandt finished 23rd (18:05.69) with Brendan Weinstein in 50th (19:59.29) and David Rosas in 51st (20:06.2).
Rounding out the Big Red Red's efforts were Alex Derr (59th, 21:24.09) and Mark Mesrobian (62nd, 22:35.84).
Central Wisconsin Christian's Brian Hofman took 28th (18:17.2).
