Waupun's Visser named Horizon Player of the Week

GREEN BAY — Former Waupun athlete Holly Visser was named the Horizon League’s Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. She was the first UW-Green Bay player to be honored by the Horizon this year.

Visser led the league in kills per set (5.0) and was fourth in hitting percentage (.381) for the week. Her season-high 20 kills to go with 17 digs sparked a 3-1 win by the Phoenix at Youngstown State.

Visser posted her 11th double-double of the season and ranks third on the career kill list at UWGB with 1,084. She ranks in the Horizon’s top 10 in four categories including aces (sixth), points (eighth), kills (ninth) and digs (ninth).

The Phoenix host Cleveland State Friday night at the Kress Center.
