OSHKOSH – Five players scored at least seven points for Beaver Dam’s girls basketball team Tuesday as it routed Oshkosh North, 59-29, in nonconference action.
“We’ve got a lot of players who can play,” BD coach Tim Chase said. “It’s going to be tough for other teams to defend us, I think.”
North (0-2) put up five quick points on BD (1-0) within the first 30 seconds of the game. However, the visitors would only allow eight points the rest of the first half.
“We started a little sluggish defensively but picked it up and played pretty solid the rest of the (first) quarter,” Chase said.
Erika Chitko led BD with 13 points and added five rebounds. Cady Roedl had nine points, seven assists and four steals while Kaitlyn McIntyre chipped in eight points, four steals and five rebounds.
Megan Mazur and Allie Chitko had eight and seven points, respectively for BD, which hosts a two-day tournament starting Friday against Mayville.
