BROWNSVILLE – Bayne Johnson was all over the place for the Beaver Dam American Legion Post 146 varsity baseball team during his team’s 5-4 win over Lomira/Theresa on Thursday night in a Class AA regional tournament game.

He started on the mound for Post 146, going five innings with a strikeout and four walks while scattering seven hits and not allowing an earned run.

Johnson was also 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs. Both Zach Beekman and Austin Franke also had two hits, going 2-for-4 apiece to help BD advance.

Lomira/Theresa made it close in the bottom of the seventh inning when it cut the deficit to 5-4 with two outs, but Charlie Storhoff got Nate Abitz to strikeout to end the game.

Storhoff pitched two innings with two strikeouts, walked a batter, and yielded three hits and a run.

Lomira/Theresa defeated Berlin, 13-8, on Friday evening amid rain showers, and the championship game Friday night was postponed to today at 4:30 p.m.

If Lomira/Theresa wins that game to stay alive in the double-elimination tourney, the two teams will play again immediately afterward to determine which of them is headed to the state tournament next week in Merrill.
